Saturday the 22nd, we took up some garden tools and 10 gallons of water, to give "our" little tree a little TLC.

Part of the burn-scape above the Feikema's house, looking down into the Zeimas and Elmassian green corner.

That entire green area in the center of the picture is our corner. The tiny bit of white poking in the lower center is our roof.

Part of the burnscape, a different view of the canyons behind us.

Above the Feikema's...

More of the burned out canyon and ridges. Our daughter Erin is in the bottom left of the frame taking her own pictures.

The Vellano country club...this angle shows how the fire burned around Vellano, and necessitated the evacuation of the Woodview tract, where we used to live.

Some of Bill Friend's herefords, they've been hayed and are happy to stay below. The canyon burned above them, and really began to jump around.

The religious facility (I don't remember who) at the Orange County line. Casey, your prior home is still there.

Sleepy Hollow from the OC side. Sleepy Hollow was spared, an incredible accomplishment by the firefighters.

Eastbound on the OC side...

Along the streambed and trail inside the OC portion of the Chino HIlls State Park, obviously toast.

Carbon Canyon Highway along the east side of Brea Olinda Village.

Approaching where La Veta Hot Springs used to be, before it was demolished and cleared several years ago after Don passed away.

This is heartbreaking, this used to be a therapeutic riding center, and someone's home, but now it is just the foundation of the house, and the melted down stables.

Entering Sleepy Hollow...

The Triangle-Complex Fire Aftermath

Carbon Canyon Highway was reopened to through traffic on November 27, Thanksgiving Morning. Scott took a quick drive through on the way to pick up family, so I have posted some pertinent shots, and will add more later on. Our hearts and prayers go out to those that lost their homes, and we are thankful to the Lord and the incredible work of the firefighters who protected ours. We do not have answers, only our thanks...
